The Vote
The Ballot
A postal vote of business ratepayers in the BID area, based on the list of non-domestic ratepayers, will take place between 18th June and 23rd July 2009.
The results will be published on the Royal Borough of Kingston website www.kingston.gov.uk on 24th July.
The ballot will have to meet two tests. Firstly, a simple majority (51%) of those voting must vote in favour. Secondly, there must be a majority by rateable value of those voting.
Eligibility
- A business is entitled to vote in the BID ballot if they are listed as a non-domestic ratepayer on 4th June 2009.
- The voting documents will be sent to the person named as the ratepayer on the Non-Domestic Rating List.
- Each person entitled to vote will receive one vote per hereditament that they own or occupy within the BID area, on which non-domestic rates are payable.
