What Do We Do?
More Customers
At the start of the first BID, Kingstonfirst pledged to increase customers to Kingston town centre by an additional 1 million people a year. Since then, we have increased footfall by 2 million a year, with 20 million daytime visitors recorded in 2008.
To achieve this, the Marketing and Events Team carry out a number of Marketing Campaigns and Events throughout the year.
In addition to this, the team publish a regular newsletter, maintain the Kingstonfirst website and work with local press to ensure positive coverage for Kingston. Our annual customer survey helps to ensure we are achieving our aims and that we are utilising the right media in our campaigns.
Kingstonfirst also produces marketing materials designed to help your business - click here for more information.
Marketing Campaigns
Kingstonfirst carries out four major marketing campaigns each year- a Spring sector specific campaign, Summer- focussing on the River, the Autumn Food event, and Christmas.
- Each campaign has approx. £25,000 spent on advertising- this doubles over the important Christmas period.
- 300,000 leaflets are produced for each campaign, distributed through local media.
- Train carriage advertising attracts customers from a wider catchment area.
- We target different customer segments through a variety of media, including e-mail, online, poster, magazine, newspaper, outdoor, transport and mobile.
- A strong identity is established across all the marketing materials
