University Town House

Construction of an iconic £50 million campus building at the busy town centre gateway is scheduled to commence late 2016.

The University is replacing the existing Town House building on our Penrhyn Road campus with a new £50 million landmark building. This project will not only transform the learning experience of students, but also bring together the University and the local community.

Facilities will include a learning resources centre, an auditorium, two cafes and a welcoming and attractive new landscaping scheme across the front of the campus. A rooftop terrace will offer views of the Thames and Hampton Court Palace. The new building wil comprise

  • learning resources centre – a space across several floors, including group and quiet study spaces and special collections;
  • a covered courtyard – supporting innovative learning and experimentation, as well as civic engagement and creative enterprise opportunities;
  • specialist learning spaces – providing rehearsal areas for academic dance courses.
  • two cafes; and
  • three new public landscaped areas.

Dublin-based Grafton Architects have designed the new building and completion is expected in late 2018. For more information here to visit the Kingston Universtiy website.
