Welcome to Kington upon Thames

Discover Kingston

Kingston is both a vibrant Surrey market town and one of the liveliest London boroughs, sited on the banks of the River Thames 12 miles south west of the centre of London. The town boasts superb shopping, a colourful café culture, thriving arts scene, a well respected university and great nightlife, set amongst an attractive blend of fine timber-framed Tudor buildings and contemporary store fronts.

First recorded in a royal document in 838, by the tenth century the town was established as a coronation place for Anglo Saxon kings.

Today, a colourful mix of themed markets, street activities, varied retail outlets and mix of cafés, bars and restaurants make Kingston Town Centre a popular regional shopping and entertainment destination.
