Market House Exhibition Gallery
Market House Gallery is located in the heart of Kingston in the beautiful Grade II* listed Market House building. The gallery is very much community focused and exhibits work from local artists and community groups. Artisan Gallery
Artisan Gallery showcases original pieces of artwork from well known and up and coming artists. With only five branches across the UK, Artisan offers the perfect opportunity to source new and unusual designs and own your very own piece of original artwork. There are also a range of modern art prints available.

Fusion Arts
Fusion Arts is a charitable company founded in 2004 by professional artist Janie Harland. The centre houses a number of art studios and exhibition spaces where local artists can create and exhibit their work. Fusion Arts is based in the Town Centre and hosts regular studio open days where the general public can view the exciting new work from Kingston artists, see their website for details.

Kingston Museum
Kingston Museum houses three popular permanent galleries which focus on Kingston’s history and include Ancient Origins and Town of Kings, plus a permanent exhibition featuring the work of ground-breaking photographer Eadweard Muybridge. There is also an art gallery space which hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year.

Penny School Gallery
Penny School Gallery is located within Kingston College’s School of Art and Design campus. Since opening in 1997, the gallery has become a key location for the Kingston arts scene and today it exhibits an inspirational mix of contemporary art, design and crafts.

Stanley Picker Gallery
The Stanley Picker Gallery at the Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture in Kingston University works with artists, designers and musicians to help them create, develop and exhibit their work. The Gallery also provides access to a broad programme of exhibitions, collaborative projects, events and education initiatives.

The Toilet Gallery
The former public toilet located in Nipper Alley (alongside the Kings Tun pub) has been transformed into an inspiring and certainly unique gallery space specialising in contemporary, mixed media and new media art.

Whitewall Gallery
The Whitewall Gallery is situated within Bentalls Department Store and showcases work from contemporary artists seven days a week. There are 29 Whitewall galleries around the UK and the focus of the work exhibited is on individuality and quality.

Theatre

There is an exhilarating array of theatre in Kingston as the town is home to two leading theatres –the Rose Theatre and the Arthur Cotterell Theatre. For the latest theatre listings, please visit our 'What's On' page.

Rose Theatre, Kingston
The Rose Theatre is a 900 seat venue in the centre of Kingston with a design based on London’s famous Elizabethan Rose Theatre. The theatre has the same oval shaped stage, semi-circular seating configuration and pit area as the London theatre it’s inspired by. In the pit area, audiences can get right up to the action and sit on comfy cushions to watch performances.

Since it opened in 2008, this magnificent theatre has seen the cream of British theatre including Judi Dench, Timothy West, Jane Asher and Celia Imrie tread the boards in a range of classic and modern productions. In 2012, Joely Richardson graced the stage in performances of the acclaimed production of The Lady from the Sea.

Arthur Cotterell Theatre (ACT)
The Arthur Cotterell Theatre opened in 2004 and is based within the Kingston College campus. The theatre is used to stage productions by students and independent theatre groups plus it’s a key venue for dance and talk events in Kingston.

Canbury Park Bandstand

Culture Café
The Culture Café in the Rose Theatre hosts a free programme of music, events, talks and exhibitions. The Culture Café is home to regular jazz performances on the first Tuesday of every month at 1.15pm and is fortunate to have regular one off acoustic sets from talented local musicians.
