Prudential RideLondon 2014

The 2014 Prudential RideLondon festival of cycling will take place on 9 and 10 August 2014 with the 100-mile sportive on Sunday 10 August. The route will remain essentially the same as 2013, with minor changes that include a showcase the redeveloped Ancient Market Place.

The day begins with the RideLondon Surrey 100 as 24,000 riders gather in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to start in waves from 6am, ride out through London to the roads and hills of Surrey before returning to the capital to finish on The Mall. This is followed by the RideLondon Surrey Classic at 1pm, a race for 150 of the world’s top professional male riders.

Beach come to Kingston!

This August all the fun of the Seaside comes to Kingston Upon Thames when the ancient market place will transformed into a beach side atmosphere featuring a wide range of summer activities including Punch and Judy shows,deck chairs,ice cream and various seaside themed rides and stalls such as a traditional helter-skelter, hook a duck, pick and mix sweets,bbq,etc,as well as a giant sand pit so the children can build sand castles while parents can relax in deck chairs.

The event runs from Saturday 9th until Saturday 16th August, open daily 10am to 6pm.

Come along and watch

Kingston town centre will be well and truly open for business on Sunday 10 August with the family-friendly Kingston Bike Festival 2014 creating a carnival atmosphere and local volunteers on hand to help visitors and residents make the most of the day. 

Browse the cycling exhibition in Memorial Square, featuring the best international and independent cycling brands, and then grab a drink and a bite to eat in one of  the pop-up bars and cafes. Of course you can see the Prudential RideLondon action with your own eyes as the amateur and professional cyclists pass through Kingston town centre on both their outbound and inbound journeys. 

South West Trains are running a Twickenham to Kingston shuttle service to enhance the train service due to the 281 bus service being effected by the road closures and it will be formed 8 carriages. For more information visit www.southwesttrains.co.uk

All car parks in Kingston town centre will be open as usual, although access routes may be different due to road closures.
