Kingston First has announced that Sam Eastwood, Centre Director at Bentall Centre, has been officially appointed as Chairman at its recent Annual General Meeting.
Additionally, three new directors were appointed to the board at the meeting which was held on Wednesday 18 July 2018. Chris Luff, Store Manager of Marks & Spencer, and Cllr Fiona Boult of Kingston Council and Cllr Maria Netley of Kingston Council take the Local Authority's board positions. They join a board of voluntary directors who collectively represent the make-up of the town’s business community.
Commenting on his appointment, Sam Eastwood said: “It’s an important time for Kingston with significant upcoming investment and development and Kingston First’s strategic role in helping to keep Kingston a strong, diverse and vibrant town centre is as important as ever.
I’m particularly looking forward to working with my fellow directors and the Kingston First team to evolve the work of the company as we look ahead to the opportunities the 2020s present to the town.”
Kirsten Henly, Chief Executive of Kingston First, added: “I’m delighted to welcome our new directors and thank the whole board for giving their time to support our work in maintaining the success of the town as a place people want to visit and do business in.
These new additions bring a wealth of experience to the company, and along with Sam’s appointment as Chairman, come at a key time for Kingston First as we begin to shape our business plan for our fourth term and I'm excited to be working with them over the coming months.”
