September 2019 Onwards

Kingston Council have advised Kingston First of a number of roadworks and developments taking place in the town centre over the coming weeks.

Go Cycle Update
30 September to Mid October 2019
Kingston Council have advised Kingston First on a number of roadworks  at the junction of Horse Fair and Clarence Street as part of the Go Cycle programme. The works are planned to take place from 30 September, throughout October until mid November 2019 and will include the following :
● Upgrade the pedestrian/cycle crossings
● Create a new cycleway facility
● Upgrade the paving, footways and kerbs
● Upgrade the pedestrian islands and crossings
● Upgrade the traffic signals
● Provide new planting and cycle hoops
As part of these works, the following temporary measures should be expected at various stages:
● Carriageway incursions, lane closures / diversions
● Cycle lane closure and removal/replacement
● Temporary traffic signals
● Pedestrian crossing closures
● Pedestrian footway incursions / diversions
● Welfare unit and compound / storage
